Unlocking the Power of the East Bay
Since 1972, Oakland Community Organization has been a driving force for systemic change, racial justice, and economic equity in Oakland. On January 1, 2020, we changed our name to Faith in Action East Bay (FIAEB) to reflect the move to expand and regionalize our work. We are scaling up the level of our capacity to build power throughout the East Bay. Our commitment to faith-based organizing and leadership development now encompasses all of Alameda County and Contra Costa County.
Our Mission
Our mission is to develop leaders who build power through their congregations and schools to drive systemic change, and improve the quality of life for their families.
Credential: Faith in Action East Bay (FIAEB) reflects our growth into building power together with community leaders from across Alameda and Contra Costa counties. We are a multi-faith, multiracial network made up of more than 23 congregations that includes over 25,000 families.
Faith in Action East Bay leaders organize around the issues that impact our communities, including access to affordable housing, excellent public schools, ending mass incarceration, civic engagement, and just immigration policies to create family reunification. Faith in Action East Bay is a member of the PICO California and Faith In Action National Network. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
