Across the state our PICO CA federations are moving towards a Moral Economy Agenda that is centered in our belief in the sacredness of people and the land we reside on.  If successful our efforts will:

• Generate billions of $$ per year for housing for all the diverse families in our communities: people who are unhoused, people living in poverty, young people, working families.

• Protect the progress we’ve made towards transforming our criminal justice system into one that is restorative — that heals and rehabilitates, that treats mental health and substance abuse, that provides people with the job training, housing, healthcare they need and deserve

Over the next four months we, the PICO CA network, have a vital role to play in determining whether California chooses to put $26 billion into prisons (the largest single prison spending increase in the history of California), and eliminate $750 million in mental health, education, youth development, and drug treatment programs OR protects the progress we’ve made towards transforming our criminal justice system into one that is restorative and creates opportunities for everyone to live into our belief that Home is Sacred.
