Illegal Dumping

Our leaders play a central role in the fight for clean, healthy neighborhoods and the implementation of viable solutions. Believing that our families and our community deserve nothing less than healthy, safe, and clean neighborhoods, this campaign is successful in getting the City of Oakland to allocate funding for clean-up and enforcement in the most vulnerable and long-ignored neighborhoods.

In collaboration with allied organizations, we won $1.4 million to clean the streets of Oakland and combat illegal dumping. We continue to work with this coalition so that we can ensure this funding continues.

Leaders work closely with the Oakland Public Works Department, and have brought in an additional $5 million to continue supporting safe, clean neighborhoods.

In 2020 the City of Oakland launched “Oaktown PROUD,” an anti-dumping campaign developed in collaboration with us and other community groups and organizations. FIAEB leaders have been at the forefront of this fight.
