Antioch, California –  At 6 p.m. Friday, August 27, Antioch community members will gather at Most Holy Rosary Church at 1313 A Street to begin a Walk for Peace that will proceed at 6:30 p.m. through the neighborhood and return to the church at 7:30 p.m. All are invited to participate.

The Walk for Peace is an event sponsored by Faith in Action East Bay and leaders of Most Holy Rosary Church as a way to address growing gun violence in Antioch.

“Let us unite through languages, cultures, and faith traditions to bring peace to our streets and neighborhoods,” said FIAEB leader Yadira Fragoso. “Peace is possible if we all work together; our children deserve safe streets, parks, neighborhoods, and communities.”

In addition to members of the community, also participating are Antioch Mayor Lamar Thorpe, Council Member Pro Tem Monica Wilson, and Lieutenant Joe Donleavy of the Antioch Police Department.
