On January 16, 2024, the Richmond City Council acknowledged and honored the successful collaborations with Faith in Action East Bay and other organizations in the reduction of homicides with a Proclamation. For the year 2023, Richmond had the lowest number of annual homicides (8) in Richmond’s history of keeping such records dating back to 1971.

Faith in Action East Bay received a Certificate of Acknowledgment and this mention in the Proclamation: WHEREAS, many Richmond faith-based organizations have worked both independently and collaboratively with City agencies to reach the hearts and minds of many individuals in areas of high incidence of violent crime; a current example being the recently reactivated Richmond Peace Walks led by Faith in Action East Bay. (NOTE: Richmond Peace Walks are led by Faith in Action East Bay Board Member Florence Davis.)
