Who is our target audience? What do you know about them? What do we need to know? Who can help us reach them?

  • People who care about the issues that are not connected/informed about what’s on the ballot.
  • Those who are in need of affordable housing
  • Black and brown youth (may be a long-term strategy)
  • People who are unhoused
  • Slightly older affinity demographics (i.e. Millennials, GenX, etc.)

What voter engagement ‘activities do you suggest we do this year?

  • Education events: pros and cons
  • Registering people in concert lines
  • Engaging other organizations: Unity Council, La Clinica, Boys and Girls Club
  • Town hall meetings
  • Messaging that comes from the community it is targeting
  • House meetings
  • Door canvassing
  • Phone banking
  • Host a party and a concert
  • Candidate forums

Agreements:

  • Plan for a voter engagement kickoff event around May 20, 2024 (date is flexible) which we want to be:
    • Fun
    • Informative – people can learn about all the different ways they can engage voters this year
    • Engaging – They are empowered to take next steps to commit to these activities
    • Transformational – People who are disillusioned, disenchanted, and disenfranchised by the political system feel a sense of agency again.
